RECENT
ACTIVITY AND HIGHLIGHTS DATABASE
OF SIGHTING REPORTS UPDATED ON JUNE 2ND, 2013 In
our haste to update the NUFORC site, we have not been able to devote as much
time to as careful proof-reading of the reports as we traditionally try to
do, so visitors to the site should be on the look-out for flawed
reports. If you find what you believe
to be a flawed report, please send your observation about the report to
Director@UFOCenter.com, and we will address the issue as quickly as possible.
Visitors
to our site will note that many of the new cases allude
to photographic evidence, captured during sightings of clusters of
“fireballs,” a strange phenomenon NUFORC has been discussing for more than a
year. However, before we can post
those photos or videos, we will have to dedicate considerable time to going
through all of that data. We probably
will post a few of the photos and videos later this week. If
anyone visiting our site has been witness to a sighting of these “fireballs,”
we respectfully request that the witness submit a report, using our Online
Report Form at www.UFOCenter.com. If
you know of other witnesses to such sightings, we would be most grateful if
you would please encourage the witnesses to submit written reports, using the
report form, which will allow us to post those reports. We

My boyfriend and I were sitting on the porch and witnessed a red cylinder
object in the sky up close above a house and it was bigger than the size of a
full moon. We were looking north and
the object began flying west at a really fast speed until we saw it disappear
through the clouds. As it began flying away it looked as though it was
getting smaller and by the time we took the pictures it was almost gone. The object was quiet, we didn't hear

Four Yellowish bright lights seemed to move in the same direction
where two of them later moved in the opposite direction. 190 Description: I was coming home with my family
in my car and I saw 4 bright oval shaped lights moving from north to
south. We stopped our car to look at
it and we saw that the 4 shapes were moving in the same direction. Then two
of those shapes stopped for couple seconds and changed velocity in the
opposite direction. The two that were moving in the opposite direction
blinked for a second and then disappeared into the sky. The other two shapes
kept moving from north to south for about a minute and disappeared one by
one. Each shaped blinked at least once before it disappeared. This may be due
to the clouds. I was looking at those shapes at a 45 degree elevation. In my
background there were street lights and cars passing by. My mother was at a neighbor's house at the same
time and she described similar characteristics but the objects seemed bigger
and more light was observed at the bottom of the shapes. She explained that
she saw the four objects moving from south to north then it seemed to come
down a little and then went back up. They finally started going in the
direction of north to south. She said
she saw the objects couple minutes before we started noticing them. PETER

HOMEPAGE AND DATABASE UPDATED ON MAY 15TH, 2013 Following
an unacceptably long delay, we have finally managed to update our homepage
and database of sighting reports, our first update since mid-April. We
have posted approximately 950 sighting reports to our database, which have
been received since early March of this year. In
our haste to update the website and database, we have had devoted less time
to proof-reading sighting reports than we wish were the case. Hence, we
request that visitors to our website be on the look-out for errors, and
oversights on our part. If you encounter an error, please call it to
our attention at director@ufocenter.com, and I will address the
issue as promptly as a busy schedule allows. Many
of the sighting reports have been accompanied by video, photos, and
illustration of the objects allegedly witnessed. We do not have time to
post those photos, at present, but will address them within 4-5 days, upon
Peter’s return from the McMenamis UFO Festival in

HEARING ON DISCLOSURE, WEEK OF APRIL 28-MAY 03, 2013 Peter
Davenport, Director, will be at the Citizens Hearing on Disclosure, sponsored
by Steven Bassett, Director of the Paradigm Research Group, for the entire
week of that event in Washington, D.C..
Consequently, we would request that people refrain from making any but the
most important calls to our UFO Hotline, during that time. Peter will
check the Hotline for messages 2-3 times per day, and will attempt to return
important calls, but he may not be able to return calls as promptly as he
typically aspires to do when he is working at the Center. TECHNICAL/COMPUTER
PROBLEMS AT NUFORC We
are grieved by the long delay we have experienced in updating our database
with the latest sighting reports. The delay has been caused by a
computer failure in March, from which we are only now about to recover
fully. Fortunately, because we use a back-up hard-drive, virtually no
data was lost. However, trying to get the computer repaired was
unsuccessful, and NUFORC is now awaiting delivery of a new computer. We
will not be able to post new reports until the second week of May, which
is the earliest that our webmaster will be able to address the issue.
We apologize for the delay, but we have done the best we were able, in order
to effect a recovery from the computer problem. We
posted a few of the proof-read reports last week, and we post below a few of
the more interesting and dramatic reports we have received recently, of the
approximately 600-700 reports that have arrived since early March. “FIREBALL”
PHENOMENON Since
June 2012, NUFORC has been inundated with reports of clusters of red,
orange, or yellow “fireballs,” for absence of a better term. We are
very interested in this continuing phenomenon, even though we have absolutely
no idea what the objects are. We recognize that in some cases, the
luminous objects may be so-called “Chinese lanterns.” However, some characteristics
of the objects strongly militate against that explanation. If you see one of these events, we would be most grateful if you would please report it!! We would like to have at least one of the witnesses to the display write out a thorough description of what occurred, and what they witnessed, and submit it as a formal report, using our On-Line UFO Report Form. We
would like to know the following information about your sighting: ·
Your location(s), at the time of the sighting; ·
The direction you were looking, e.g. north, south,
east, or west; ·
The angle of elevation to the object(s); ·
What the color of the objects was; ·
How many objects were in the cluster, what their size
was, and how they maneuvered, relative to one another; ·
How fast the objects were moving; ·
How the objects disappeared from sight; ·
Any other facts, which seem pertinent to the witness. Also,
we would like the witness to contact either the local National Weather
Service office, or a Flight Service Station (operated by the Federal Aviation
Administration), in order to obtain information about the direction, and
velocity, of the wind, at the time and date of the sighting. Please
include that information in your report, which will help us determine whether
the objects were drifting with the prevailing wind, or whether they were
self-propelled, and moving in another direction from that of the wind. After
you have submitted your report, we would like to invite everyone who has
experienced one of these sighting to contact local press offices…radio,
television, and newspapers, to report the event. We urge visitors to
our website to be pro-active and outspoken, in seeing to it that the
information receives local news coverage, principally to encourage other
witnesses at other locations to report the event. From 39 years of
experience, we know that most people will not report a strange event, unless
they see that someone else has reported it, too! We

travelling back home from my mums one night as we were getting in the farm areas
this extremely bright orange light come down the paddocks it was probably
about 5km away when we seen it but in a matter of a
second it was at my car it kept doing like a half circle around us we were so
scared at the time I was speeding up but it was like we were going nowhere.
What would this mean it has happened to us on this 1 road so many times now

vanished 190 Description: I was having a cigarette on my
patio and my son was outside talking to me. I was watching the sky just west
and a little north of us because I thought it was unusual to see 7 jet airplanes
flying so closely in the same area of sky. I know they are farther from one
another in the sky, but from the ground they looked very close to one
another. Still odd to see them so bunched up considering how vast the sky is!
It seemed as if they were confused, or that some air-traffic controller must
have fallen asleep on the job. My son agreed and as we watched the last two
planes intersect safely there appeared a white light in the sky just above
them. At first glance I just thought it was a star. My son saw it too and it
dawned on us that it wasn't there before! We watched for a about 15 seconds and it moved a little, turned red, and
simply vanished! The rest of the evening I watched the sky for any other
unusual happenings. I stayed up until 2:30 am and nearly every time! I went outside I noticed one
strange re-occurring thing-all air traffic was bunched up in the same
manner as earlier in the evening. We never see so much air traffic out our
way in the first place, so it just seems odd to see 3 to 7 planes all in the

with 3 white blinking lights on corners and one red one in center. 190 Description: 8:45 pm eastern time I was
driving down the hill just before my house and I noticed a set of 3 bright
white lights that seemed to just hang in the sky. It looked abnormal to me so
as soon as I pulled into my driveway I got out of my car and walked to the
road where I could see the lights. Upon observation I saw that the lights
were traveling slowly in my direction. I watched as it approached and it
seemed to be maybe 2500 or 3000 feet in the air. It was dark outside but the
lights were very bright. It appeared to be a black triangle with a white
light on each of the three corners with one red light in the very middle of
the craft. The white lights were blinking but I don't recall if the red one
was or not. As it passed I noticed it was totally silent and on the back end
of the craft I could almost make out a line of dimmer lights that were in
between the rear corner lights. It may have been a reflection off the craft
or dimmer lights, it was hard to tell. The craft traveled in a straight line
and was starting to go behind the treeline. No
leaves on the trees yet. There were two jets higher in the sky that seemed to
be following it. One of the jets was a lot higher than the craft and the
second, even higher than that. I could hear the jets and was slightly annoyed
because of the fact that since the triangular craft was so low I knew the
sound was not coming from that. If it were a plane or jet that low it would
have been much louder than the sound of the jets I heard. This thing seemed
to silently glide across the sky. The craft was traveling in a north-easterly
direction and the whole sighting took place within a four minute period. This
also took place on a full moon, which was really big, by the way. I have always been interested in u.f.o.'s but have never seen
one. I'm almost 40 years old and I'm an honest person who does not make up
lies or file false reports. I was not under the influence of any alcohol or

the West. I noticed a round object just below the tree line. I believed it
was the setting Moon, but seemed very low, but not to unusual. I was watching
television and glanced over a few times, thinking how low the Moon was. I was
going to call my wife into the room to see it, she knows more about moon
cycles than I do, but she was putting the baby to bed. I left the room for
about half an hour and the Moon was gone, normal. Around 10:45 I noticed a
light coming from my South window, to see a full moon moving in from the
East. The Moon in now in full view in my South window. I have no idea what

flare type objects in a semi-circular pattern overhead made seven passes 190 Description: My neighbor called at 10:30 PM
telling me he had just spotted 2 objects in the sky. I immediately went over with my cameras and
we talked about the sighting while still watching the sky and within 10
minutes another one appeared coming from the North on the horizon. (Note – we both witnessed these) In total there were 7 passes overhead with the
first one having two objects next to each other but all subsequent sightings
had one object at a time all coming from the north circling down over our
location then turning east. We captured 6 of those passes on video as best we
could but had multiple trees in the way and they were constantly moving in a
large circular pattern. We spotted then while they were over the area of
approximately over It might even be fair to say they followed the
Connecticut River southward to the They maintained the same colors (shifting) and
circular shape the entire time. The colors went from white to red and orange
with the otter edge staying red while the center
was what changed to white and orange and even into very dark red. We agreed
the all looked like flares but were of course too large to be a flare and no
flare could move in this type of controlled pattern time and time again. I did hit one with a laser and it appeared to stop
momentarily but kept going. We noticed after the first and second sightings
they had a time interval, each sighting was about to 15 minutes in-between –
roughly, we didn’t time them but it was approximate and the intervals were
about equal. The loops they made kept moving southerly
progressively moving coming nearer and nearer to us. The first passes turned short of our area with
pass’s number 5 and 6 directly overhead and number 7 was slightly south of

Monday, April 1, 2013, I was outside letting my dogs out. It was a very
clear night and cold. I was waiting on them to do their business and
looking at the many stars and constellations. I suddenly saw something
to the west and at about a 60-70 degree
angle up from the horizon. It was a triangular shaped object moving in
a straight line from slightly southwest to slightly northeast, but mostly
south to north. It was difficult to see due to the dark coloring –
slightly lighter than the night sky and dark brown/gray coloring. There
were extremely dim “lights” on the bottom – three at each corner – each
grouping in a triangle shape – all a rusty red-orange color –very dim.
No blinking lights at all. No sound before, during, or after. It
moved at a constant speed and fairly quickly. I saw it for probably 10
seconds as I could only visualize it between two groupings of trees; it was not
bright enough to see when it moved farther northeast behind the second group
of trees. I don’t know how big it was or how far away it was
– I am not good at judging this. It appeared to me to be the size of
3-4 full moons (when it is directly overhead, not the huge moon size when it’s near the horizon). I have seen a
stealth plane fly directly overhead once before and this was nothing similar
to it at all. I have never seen anything like this before, but I hope

Sphere Photographed and Videoed by two witnesses. 190 Description: On February 22, 2013 at about
11:30 PM was driving westbound on Limonite Ave about 3/4 of a mile West of
the 15 fwy in the City of Eastvale,
California when I spotted an object in the sky I could not identify. I was
listening to new reports on the radio of a meteor that had passed over I had a hard time judging the size and distance to
the object which was moving much slower than a meteor and not near as bright.
It was also gaining altitude not losing it. I think it was only about the
size of a basketball and probably only a few hundred feet away. There was no
sound or noise coming from the object that I could hear. It did remind me of
a Chinese lantern or little hot air balloon but it appear to be a perfectly
round ball with a pulsating light in the exact center and not a candle at the
bottom as you would expect from a lantern. The object moved diagonally across my westerly
path and gained altitude. Shortly after it crossed in front of the moon it
disappeared. Its speed seemed to be slower than an airplane but it is hard to
judge exactly how fast it was going because it was hard to tell how far away
and how big it was. If it was the size of basket ball
and only a few hundred feet away then I would guess its speed to be about 10
mph. I am sure it was not a real airplane, helicopter nor toy or models size
version. Like I said I have still shots and video as well

has updated its database of sighting reports, which have been received as of
Sunday afternoon, March 03rd, 2013. Given that it is unlikely
that we detect all errors and flawed reports, in the course of our
proof-reading reports, we request that as you read the reports, please be on
the look-out for things we may have overlooked. Things to look for are
personal information contained in the reports, errors in times and dates,
profanity, and overt attempts at hoaxing, etc..
If you detect what you believe to be an error, we would like to request that
you send a brief note to director@ufocenter.com,
with the details of the report. We will address flawed reports as
quickly as we are able. VOLUME
OF SIGHTING REPORTS HAS DIMINISHED RECENTLY Beginning
in mid-June of 2012, the volume of seemingly credible reports rose
dramatically, for reasons that we still do not understand. The elevated
volume of reports continued until approximately mid-February 2013, at which
time the number of reports returned to its “traditional” volume of
approximately 300-400 per month. We are pleased to report that this
diminished volume of reports has allowed us to keep up with the flow of
reports, and to post them more promptly than we have been able to do, over
the last 6-8 months. PETER

“goldenrod” in color, floating across the night sky. Suddenly, four of
the lights disappear, followed by the remaining two lights. Full Report REQUEST:
PLEASE REPORT YOUR SIGHTINGS IN WRITTEN FORM—If any of the
visitors to our website have been witness to the events described above, or
to any other similar sightings, we would like to request that they please
submit detailed written reports, using our Online Report Form.
The only type of report that we are able to process and post is a written
report. Many people are of the opinion that a telephone call to our
Hotline serves as a report. However, we cannot post a telephone
conversation. Hence, we respectfully request that written reports be
submitted by each of the witnesses to a sighting, so that we can share that information
with the public. Later
this week, NUFORC expects to post statements regarding 1) what to do if you
believe you are observing a UFO, and 2) how to report the sighting
event. We observe (and lament!) that there appears to be vast room for
improvement in what people report (or do not report) about their sightings,
and how they prepare their follow-up written reports. We aspire to
improve the quality of reports we post to our website, and will post a few
suggestions regarding how witnesses to sightings can assist us in improving

seems to have received slightly fewer reports of red or orange “fireballs,”
or “orbs,” than we have received over past months, but the phenomenon
continues, and we believe that the nature of the lighted orbs remains a
mystery. We

We
encourage anyone interested in the phenomenon to simply scan the report
summary for any given month, looking for the words, “red,” or “orange.”
Many of the reports for December, January, and February are of quite dramatic
sightings, and many tend to rule out the possibility that the objects may
have been so-called “Sky lanterns,” drifting in the nighttime sky. If
anyone visiting this website has witnessed a display of these red, orange, or
yellow “fireballs,” we would like to urge the visitor to submit a detailed
report about his/her sighting, using our Online Report Form.
We are very interested in this type of sighting, and would like to “capture”
more information about them. They are occurring around the globe, and
we hope to be able to collect more, and more
accurate, information about the phenomenon. If video or still photos
are taken of the displays, we would welcome an opportunity to review them.
We

the long hiatus since our last posting. We attempted to update our
website on December 09th, but unexpected problems with our
webmaster’s computer thwarted that effort. We post here approximately 700
new sighting reports. As you read those reports, please be on the
look-out for defects. Examples of flawed reports include 1) reports of
the star, Sirius, which appear to be numerous; 2) reports of the
International Space Station, seen passing overhead; 3) reports of “flares”
caused by Motorola “Iridium” satellites; 4) reports with incorrect entries of
time or date; 5) reports which are out-and-out hoaxes; and 5) reports
containing profanity, or other offensive materials. We are aware of all
of the above phenomena, but occasionally, our proof-reading “filter” fails to
pick up some of the reports that have nothing to do with UFO sightings, or
which should have been amended in some fashion, before they were posted.

cluster of red lights, which suddenly reposition themselves into several

- Multiple witnesses in, and around, the city of Cedar Rapids report that the
sky was flickering with bright blue, or green, light, which appeared to
stretch from horizon to horizon. The event appears not to have been
caused by any aurora borealis activity. Similar reports from

HRS. (CST) - A mother and son, while driving along
Highway 36, witness very bright, strobing lights
ahead of their car, close to the horizon. Suddenly, a very bizarre 6- or
8-sided craft, with faceted sides, appears above their car. Several

Saturday night, November 10, and then again on November 17, NUFORC received a
large number of reports of clusters of red and orange “fireballs,” a
phenomenon our Center has attempted to call to the attention of visitors to
our website for almost two years. We highlight below a number of the
more interesting reports, and we encourage people to read the other reports
for those dates, which are posted for the month of November. WASILLA-SUSITNA DELTA, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH,
2012, @ 1945 HRS. (LOCAL) -Two on-duty police officers witness 6-7 bright orange
lights in the northeast sky, which are seen to drop bright red

- A retired airline pilot, while driving to the east of Castle Rock, is
shocked to witness three orange objects approaching the highway he is driving
on, and descending. He turns his vehicle around and races home, to
request that his wife come outside to watch the objects. Full Report. Mr.
James Clarkson, MUFON State Director for Washington State, interviewed
the witness, and shared his report below: CASTLE ROCK WA UFO SIGHTING –
November 10, 2012 Location: Vicinity of Castle Rock, Washington located at exit 49 on Interstate 5 about 57 miles south of Olympia, WA where I reside. The sighting event occurred on a side road off of State Highway 504 which is also called the Mount Saint Helens Hwy. (Mount Saint Helens is a semi-dormant volcano that erupted catastrophically on May 18, 1980.) The sighting occurred between Castle Rock and Silver Lake. Witness: The witness is very concerned that his confidentiality should be maintained. He has a retired commercial pilot who has logged over 6000 hours as pilot in command with no accidents or violations. We are about the same age; I am 61 years old. He has a family man living on a very well-maintained property and he is highly involved in his church. (It was very clear during our interview that his recent UFO experience is deeply troubling.) Weather: The historical weather as of 1735 hrs. on November 10, 2012 was 39.2°F. Visibility was 10 miles. Conditions were partly cloudy and calm. According to historical records the official sunrise occurred at 7:06 AM and sunset was at 1644 hrs. The moon was not visible at the time of the sighting; moonrise was at 3:06 AM Pacific Standard Time and setting time was 2:43 PM Pacific Standard Time. Investigation: This UFO sighting was reported shortly after it occurred to NUFORC and then to UFOSNW. As the state director for MUFON in Washington I monitor both of these sites and when I read the narrative from the witness I decided that further investigation was required. On November 11, 2012 I called the witness and we went over his sighting report. Based upon his credibility and the level of high strangeness, I asked him if I could speak to him in person and go through the events of the sighting. On November 12, 2012 at 1448 hours I sat with him in his study and he went over the details of the sighting. My wife Joanne, who is also a MUFON field investigator, accompanied me. I noted that as a hobby the witness had created models demonstrating a meticulous attention to detail. We went through the entire experience and then he drove Joanne and I along the same route he followed two days previous when he encountered the UFOs. Details of Incident: The witness left his home in his car to go to town and make a quick purchase. He was accompanied by a pet dog, a small dachshund. He departed about 25 to 30 minutes before the event. He went to the store and drove back to his home, turning off of Highway 504. There is a short grade of several winding curves before the road straightens. It is about 1 mile from the turnoff to the witness’ home. As he topped the rise and glanced to his left, in a SE direction, he observed a very bright red-orange orb that appeared to be in line with the top of a flagpole in front of a residence. He looked closer and observed 3 glowing objects. The 3 objects did not glow brightly in the sense of just being lights in the sky. Each one of these objects was spheroid. (His word choice when I questioned him about the difference between seeing a light in the sky and an object with a definite shape.) The appearance of these objects was deeply startling. He slowed down and kept looking to the left in a SE direction. He stated the objects were arranged in an equilateral triangle. Each one was generating its own light. Several times during our interview he commented on the light coming from each object. He said the light from each of the objects was “a quality of light I have never seen before. It had a peculiar wavelength.” (We discussed various types of lighting that might be on an aircraft; he said it was none of these; it was nothing conventional he has ever seen.) His dog was agitated. He looked at the dashboard clock and he noted the time of 6:28 PM. He had several reactions at the same time: he wanted to keep the objects in view; he wanted to take a picture with his cell phone and he wanted to call his wife. The objects appeared low; he
estimates they were 500 feet or less above the ground. He admits he felt
afraid. He recalled thinking, “I am out
here alone. What am I going to do if one of these objects moves over the
roadway?” He stated the objects were large enough that it would have taken a dime held out at arm’s length to cover them. He kept going down the road noting the particular trees or houses where he had a line of sight view of the objects. He reconstructed these lines of sight on a map that he submitted with his initial report. He pulled into his driveway and jumped out, forgetting his dog. He wanted to alert his wife inside but as he looked up at the objects, they maneuvered: He said the center light moved in between the other two and they loved position slightly so that they appeared equidistant from his viewpoint. Then the three objects went from a dead stop to high acceleration from left to right. Each object went through a color shift to emitting a cherry red color that was dimmer and then the light went off. He believes he kept them in view until they were at an estimated 10,000 feet in not more than 5 seconds. He added that the vertical departure was a smooth acceleration. He described the objects’ departure as graceful. He ran inside and told his wife and then he remembered his dog. When he went back to the car, the dog was on the floorboard whimpering. He called the emergency dispatch number and they stated there were no other reports. A deputy called him and gave him the information to file a report with NUFORC. Analysis: This is a highly credible witness who was able to make detailed observations of 3 highly unconventional objects that were probably 500 feet in the air or less when he first observed them and a similar lateral distance away. The objects appeared to be operating under intelligent control. Given the spherical shapes, it would be easy to dismiss the sighting as balloons, etc. However, given the highly strange illumination, the precise maneuvering and the ability to go from hovering to high acceleration, these objects are classified as Unknown Aerial Vehicles. - A railroad employee responds to several signals, which suggest that the
railroad tracks he is responsible for had shorted out. He responds by
driving to the locations of the trouble spots, and suddenly has a flashing
light approach his truck at very high speed. The object moves around
his truck for several minutes, and then shoots off. Equally suddenly,
all indications of shorts on the tracks resolve and disappear from the
employee’s laptop computer. Full

VIRGINIA, APRIL 15, 1950 - Nine military cadets, while practicing drill on the
drill field, witness a metallic-looking, disc-shaped object, circle their

TO INCREASE DRAMATICALLY ON NOVEMBER 10th AND 11TH,
2012 For
almost two years, the National UFO Reporting Center has attempted to call to
the attention of the public the fact that frequent sightings of clusters of
red, orange, and yellow “fireballs” are occurring, for which there appears to
be no adequate explanation. The objects clearly are not aircraft,
meteors, satellites, weather balloons, swamp gas…all objects that frequently
are cited by UFO skeptics in attempt to explain the UFO phenomenon in
pedestrian terms. On
the evening of Saturday, November 10th, 2012, NUFORC began to
receive a “pulse” of reports of sightings of
these peculiar “fireballs,” and that trend appears to continue, as this text
is being written. In
order to bring this information to the attention of the public as quickly as
possible, we post below a sample of some of the reports that have been
submitted to our Center over the last 24 hours. The event appears to us
to be of sufficient importance and magnitude to warrant our posting the
reports in their “raw” form. The reports are largely unedited, and
appear in their original form, although we have attempted to confirm that
each report indicates the correct times. The reports are in order of
occurrence of the sightings, allowing for the three time zones in the U. S.. In particular, we would like to call the readers’
attention to the report below from Castle Rock, Washington, submitted by a current
airline pilot (ATP pilot’s license), who encountered three of the orange
objects on a remote stretch of highway in Washington State. The witness
reported to us via telephone that the objects appeared so low that he thought
they were going to land on the highway in front of his vehicle. If
anyone visiting our website has been witness to one of the events shown
below, we would like to invite the person to submit a written report, using
our Online Report Form. Also, we encourage witnesses to contact the
local press in their area…radio, television, and newspaper offices…in order
to report the sighting to them, and in attempt to achieve some publicity for

EST, I was east bound on Metro Parkway (16 Mile road), and arrived at the intersection
of Garfield and Metro Parkway. As I approached the red light, I noticed
3 lights, each of them both red and white/clear, like a brake light and
headlight (each), in a triangle formation stop over the traffic
light/intersection and hover for a moment, and then head northwest (from
south east to northwest direction). It moved very slowly over the top
of the trees. When I got home, I posted on Facebook that I had seen
something strange and asked if anyone else had. One of the leaders from
my church posted that her teenage daughter and friends had been at the
intersection of 15 and Utica (southeast of where I saw it), and they saw a
huge ball of fire fall from the sky, and then break into 3 separate lights
like a UFO and move toward the direction of Metro Parkway and Garfield.

barely visible outer perimeter layer, looked like it was on ball of Fire with
the flames etc as it headed toward us, as it passed
over, it seemed to be close it would hover and come to a complete stop,
without any kind of a sound and then change directions or speed up suddenly
as it headed toward North (toward Spanish Fork?). as it completely
disappeared far North (the light seemed to suddenly turn off, just before it
was completely out of eye sight, when we turned around or looked up it would
be instantly back again just either right south of us headed toward us again,
or suddenly right over our heads, until it disappeared again, and then this
process repeated again three to four times...it looked quit
different from the back and not as bright; flatter with three spaced out
circles the middle being the largest of the three. From the back the lights
flashed on and off once in awhile, but when it
flashed it flashed to a red or to an orange (from the back only) the front

from different areas of the craft, and it looked a bit like a trapezoid, but
then seemed to change shape. Getting out of the car, there was a quiet drone
unlike anything I've heard before. Soon it started flying away at incredible

of time observed: From initial visual acquisition to their departure,
approximately 1 minute. Description
of Objects: Three totally silent, solid, reddish orange glowing spheres
forming an equilateral triangle. Size: Each sphere approximately the size of a dime held out at arm’s length. Event
Description: At approximately 18:28 Pacific Standard Time on November 10th,
2012 I was driving Southbound on Si Town Road toward my home. Three bright
reddish orange spheres low to the ground initially caught my eye when I was
approximately 1200 feet south of SR504 on Si Town Rd .
Seconds after my initial visual acquisition these objects were momentarily obscured
by trees. When
I re-acquired these objects about two seconds later I now had an unobstructed
view of them. They appeared to be hovering at this point at an altitude of
500 feet or perhaps less above ground level and about 1000 feet horizontally
to the southeast of my location. The ground level at this location is about
700 feet above sea level. The
three objects were close enough to my car that I almost stopped my car as I
actually feared that they might block the road, but they stayed hovering where
they had been the whole time so I continued southbound on Si Town Rd. They
were totally silent. They did not blink, rotate or change color. They
maintained a constant luminosity until the end of this event. They were
each very bright and each sphere was about as big around as a dime held at
arm’s length. At
this point I was not sure if I was observing one solid triangular craft with
lights at each corner, or if I was observing three independent objects. As
I turned east onto Ness Rd. and approached my house about 45 seconds after
initially acquiring these objects they began to maneuver independently of
each other, but still over the same location. At this point they maneuvered
into a straight line, equally spaced from each other and began to ascend. I
quickly pulled into my driveway with the car facing basically toward the
objects. At this point they all ascended vertically together with no
horizontal travel noted. One by one each object faded out and disappeared up
into the darkness. At
this point I was quite shaken. I ran out of my car and into the house to get
my wife. I grabbed my camera and tried to explain what had just happened to
my wife, but there was no longer anything to see. I called the Cowlitz County
Sheriff’s Office and Castle Rock City Police Department 15 to 20 minutes
after this event to inquire if anyone else had seen what I saw. They both
responded in the negative. Let
me add that until retiring I was a commercial pilot and I still hold an
Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. I’ve been flying since 1977. As such I
am quite used to identifying and looking at things in the sky. The objects I
observed tonight were NOT aircraft navigation lights, emergency lights,
landing lights, helicopters, lighter-than-air craft, weather balloons, flares,
Chinese lanterns, meteorological phenomena, satellites, swamp gas, or any
other nonsense. I know how non-aviation people can often misidentify things
they see in the sky. This was not the case tonight. These
were real, solid objects and appeared to maneuver under intelligent
control. I’m still shaking from what I saw more than an hour and a half

Description: On the evening of November 10, at 7:40 pm, I was taking my dog
outside to the bathroom. I saw 2 red/orange circles in the sky moving
SSE slowly at the same speed. It was located to the west of my
position. I told my wife to come out and witness the movement.
There were no sounds that we could hear of. The lead circle would pulsate
slightly and then die off. Because it was dark, we weren’t sure if it
blacked out or was masked by clouds. About 10 seconds after, the second
blacked out. My wife went back into the house and I continued to walk
the dog around the neighborhood. Approximately 3 minutes later, I saw a
third red/orange circle trailing the same route as the first two. After
about 1 to 2 minutes, the third blacked out as well. I saw regular
aircraft in the vicinity of these circles. It was obvious that these
red circles did not fit the profile of a normal aircraft. Additionally,
the movement was unnatural to a regular aircraft. It would shift in
mid-air. When I got back into the house, my wife researched this to see
if anyone else saw this pattern. On the UFO Reporting Center, the
description matched similar reports. I’m
a former Marine Corps Officer with a MBA and my wife has a
masters as well. We have never witnessed anything like this
before. My first assumption was that these might be police unmanned
aerial vehicles. Although I have no reference, it looked extremely high

to XC Weather, no cloud below 5000 at that time, but a commercial aircraft
departing Ringway (Manchester International Airport
(approximately 12 miles to North West of Macclesfield)
conveniently climbed into cloud directly overhead at the same time heading
south, and would be likely to have seen object. Object
trajectory perceived as changing, initially suspected slowing and descent,
but became apparent that object had either: Turned to East, and gradually
dimmed to disappear, OR Turned South West and accelerated away very fast to
disappear. Wind
direction as reported on XC Weather was southerly, 3-5mph, with a shift to
westerly north of Manchester. Possibility
object was a Chinese lantern, but rapid approach (even allowing for poor
height estimation) was inconsistent with low wind speed. Shift to east
could be accounted for if wind-veer more southerly than indicated by XC
Weather. Cloud cover obviated possibility of satellite. Total
observed time 50 seconds to 1 minute. 400

lights at a 45 degree angle like “/” at the PA/DE state line 190 Description: I was driving home to New Castle,
DE, from Philadelphia, PA, traveling south on I-95. It was approx 5:02pm and dusk was approaching. At first I
thought I was seeing an optical illusion, because it looked like there was a
tear in the cloud overhead. Then I thought I was seeing a shooting star
or meteor because it most definitely was not a plane, but I realized it
wasn't moving or flickering at all it was constant! What I saw was to
the right about midway up my windshield. It was bright amber light and
stationary. It was cigar shaped and at a 45 degree angle like this: “/” I did a double take, thinking my eyes were playing
tricks on me and when I refocused my attention on the sky, I noticed that
there were multiple “/” lights...again all stationary and at a constant
brilliance, at varying distances. In addition to the closest one, which
was the most noticeable, I realized that there were at least 2 more in the
same direction (looking toward the Chichester Ave.
Exit sign), but further in the distance - like toward Brandywine Creek State
park. The 4th I noticed distinctly to the left in my range of sight,
more toward the direction of the Delaware River. I could not pull off
due to the volume of traffic, but kept my focus on the objects until they fell
out of my range of sight. I could see all 4 objects through the trees until
about the split for 495 south. Once I got onto 495 South, I could only
still see one of the objects. It had gotten very faint like it had
travelled a great distance in an instant. It was as if it had moved
from the direction of the Brandywine Creek State Park more toward the
direction of Kennett Square PA, but it could also be a result of the route I
was traveling. I called the hotline at about 5:09 pm, and was instructed
to complete this form when I got home. I have always believed in
extraterrestrial life, however, I am extremely logical, and pragmatic.
I have NEVER in my life experienced anything as distinctly concrete as this
sighting that would lead me to filing a report, but I very much want to find

HOMEPAGE UPDATED ON SEPTEMBER 24, 2012 We
have posted 1,087 new, or recently revised, reports, our first posting of
reports since August 19, 2012. We apologize for the long delay since
our last posting, which was caused, in part, by a dramatic increase in the
number of reports our Center has been receiving recently. Whereas a
typical number of reports we have receive per month typically runs in the
range of 250-400, since June of this year, we have been receiving 900-1,000
reports per month. That translates to a trebling of our workload, which
already was at the breaking point!! As
a consequence of this added workload, we have not been able to devote the
same amount of time to proof-reading each report as we have in the
past. Hence, we suspect that there are many reports in our recent
posting that have nothing to do with sightings of authentic UFOs, but rather,
describe terrestrial events. Therefore, as we have been in the habit of
doing in the recent past, we request that the visitors to our site keep
watchful for cases which look suspicious, or which obviously have a
terrestrial explanation. Some of the specific items we recommend people
be on the look-out for include profanity or personal data in the
“Description” portion of a report; cases which have a flawed time or date;
and cases which clearly have a terrestrial explanation, e.g. and over-flight
of the International Space Station, “flares” from Iridium satellites, missile
launches, meteoric events, etc.. If you detect what you believe to be a
flawed case, please send us the specifics of the case, and we will correct,

“FIREBALL” PHENOMENON CONTINUES UNABATED INTO SEPTEMBER 2012 We have addressed the sudden
increase in the number of reports of “orbs” or “fireballs,” we hesitate to do

significant change in the reports that we have been accustomed to receiving

National UFO Reporting Center has received multiple reports about an alleged
event that has occurred there tonight, September 21st, in England,
Scotland, and Ireland. Multiple parties have reported to our Center,
both via telephone, and via our Online Report Form, that they had been recent
witness to clusters of orange “orbs” or “fireballs.” In at least one
case near Wolverhampton, one of the fireballs
allegedly passed rapidly across the sky, slowed to a stop, and then took on
the appearance of a cylindrical object, which exhibited lights at both of its
ends. It then proceeded to pass slowly down the length of a local
thoroughfare. In
the interest of reporting what appears to us to be a major event as quickly
as possible, we post below some of the first reports we have received about
it from the UK. Some of the reports we received via our telephone
Hotline have not been followed up with written reports, but we will post them

was a meteor about to crash land into my street. It was a fireball with
a long bright tail travelling south west from a north easterly
direction. I raced outside and saw it slow down and change shape into a
very large object with a series of lights at one end and another at the other
end. It was silent at all times and travelled slowly at roof top level

what i first thought was a plane disintegrating.
But as it got closer I realised it wasnt that at all. It was like a fiery cluster. It was in
our atmosphere so wasnt a meteor shower. Flying
slowly across the sky it lasted no more than 2 - 3 mins.
I posted it on my facebook page and it was seen in Dunshaughlin, Navan, Kells and went on to Oldcastle,
County Meath, Ireland. I have a picture of it that
I was tagged in that was taken over the Wicklow

describe it would be to say a long wiggly object, completely covered in white
lights. It was the length of about 3-4 aeroplanes
from where we observed it, no sound but we'd normally hear a plane at that
distance, did not travel in a straight line and we viewed it for about 15

in the Aegean Sea between Karpathos and Rhodes 190 Description: I just saw something crashing. I'm
on Karpathos, which is a Greek island in the South Aegean. Today September
21st at 20.55 local time (GMT+3)I saw a large white
shining thing sailing over Pigadia, the main city
of the island. It flew quite low, my guess is 1200
to 1500 meters above ground and had the size of a jumbo-jet, if you saw it in
that altitude. It came in directly from southwest and had the shape of a
French lily. I know that that's the classic shape of a meteor, but I don't
think it was a meteor. It was bright white and even if it moved very fast, it
seemed to sail. I instinctively prepared for an impact, because I
thought it would crash at the promontory just north of Pigadia.
When it flew over the crest of the promontory, which has an altitude of 500
meter, something glowing red fell of it. This part must have fallen on the
eastern side of Karpathos, whereas the main body must have crashed in the sea
between Karpathos and Rhodes. I also waited for a crash-noise, but heard
nothing. Just before the red part fell off, the main body seemed to rotate 90

I have seen five large fireballs Plummeting sideways through the sky! There was two mini balls of fire making weird
movements And unnatural flight pattern! Also the objects landed or dissapeared! The plummeting was fast and the flight pattern was

would like to invite anyone in the UK or Europe, who may have been witness to
the events described above, to please submit a detailed written report, in which you
describe the event in detail. We would like to know where the witness
was, at the time of the sighting; what direction he/she was looking; how big
the object appeared to be, relative to the size of a star or the Moon; and
all other details that the witness could include in the report. Since
we already know about the event, there
is no need to telephone our Center to talk about it. Rather,
we would prefer to receive written reports, submitted using our ONLINE REPORT FORM. We
do not know what the objects were that people have seen, tonight, but our
preliminary assessment of them is that they are not the result of a satellite
re-entry, given the broad area over which the objects were seen, and given

that if you encounter a report that appears to you to have a terrestrial
explanation, or a report that contains either personal information or
profanity, please call the report to our attention, and we will amend it, as
quickly as we can. We suspect that
there are a number of reports of sightings of the International Space
Station, flares of light from “Iridium” satellites, meteors, etc., which we

REPORT RECEIVED CONCERNING LUMINOUS “ORBS” - Once again, the recently received
batch of new reports contains what we consider to be an inordinate number of
reports of clusters of red, orange, and yellow “orbs,” or “fireballs.” These objects appear to us to defy any kind
of traditional explanation that we can identify, and the phenomenon actually
appears to be increasing, as measured by the frequency of reports. We list
below a few of the cases which we believe are both dramatic, and well
documented, and which tend to rule out the possibility that the luminous orbs
can be ascribed to the launching of so-called “Chinese lanterns” at social

NUFORC
DATABASE OF SIGHTING REPORTS UPDATED ON AUGUST 05, 2012 NUFORC
posted 1,299 new, and newly amended, reports to its website on Sunday, August
4th, 2012. The unusually long delay in posting new reports
was caused by a significant increase, over prior months, in the number of
reports we received during the months of June (974 reports) and July (1,069
reports). This pronounced increase in the volume of reports submitted
may be due, in part, to several recent media appearances made by Peter
Davenport, but we doubt that this media exposure is the sole reason for the
significant increase. In
the process of proof-reading each of those reports, we have attempted to either
remove, or properly label, those reports that we suspect are not reports of
sightings of authentic UFO’s. However, it is likely that we have not
detected all such flawed reports. Consequently, we request that anyone
reading the reports be on the lookout for seemingly defective reports, and
please be on the alert for those cases that may address over-flights of the
International Space Station, flares of light from Iridium satellites, or
other phenomena of terrestrial origin. Also, please be alert for
reports in which we have failed to detect personal data, or profanity, in the
text of reports. If you detect what you consider to be a flawed report,
please send an alert to director@ufocenter.com,
and we will review, and properly amend, it. “FIREBALL”
PHENOMENON CONTINUES TO BE REPORTED TO NUFORC The
sightings of red, orange, or yellow “fireballs,” or “orbs,” a phenomenon that
NUFORC has addressed frequently over the last fourteen months, continue to be
reported to our Center. The reports of the mysterious objects, reported
now from around the world, were an almost a daily event during June and July,
and we still do not have what we consider to be an adequate explanation for
the phenomenon. The
only possible explanation of terrestrial origin we can imagine is the release
of so-called “Chinese” lanterns in the night sky, but many of the reports
NUFORC has received seem to be inconsistent with that theory. First,
the objects are often seen to travel in directions that differ from those of
the prevailing winds, suggesting that some of the objects are
self-propelled. Moreover, many seemingly reliable witnesses have
reported that some of the objects are seen to maneuver relative to one
another, and occasionally, they are witnessed to suddenly accelerate and move
quickly out of sight. If these reports are accurate, they tend to
militate against the possibility of lanterns, we believe. We
provide below a few of the more interesting reports of “fireball”: HICKORY, NC, SATURDAY, AUGUST 04TH,
2012, @ 22:10 HRS. (EDT)
- A woman, driving close to her home with her children, witnesses a cluster
of three peculiar objects floating in the nighttime sky. She rushes
home, and alerts her husband, who took this
video of two of the objects, and the filed this report: “V”
formation of lights over Hickory, NC August
5, 2012, Sighting: Date: August 4, 2012; Time: 10:10pm I was
traveling home from my children’s’ theatre performance last evening, when I
stopped at a four way stop sign a few houses away from my home.
As usual, I looked for cars, first to the right then to the left; however,
when I looked to the left, something caught my attention out of my peripheral
view. I looked up in the sky to find three strange lights high enough
in the air to be an airplane. These lights did not look like any sort
of airplane I had ever seen. So I was quite confused. As
the lights were moving, I hurriedly shouted for my children to look out the
window up into the sky, and I asked, "Do you see what I see?! What
in the WORLD is that!??”" Both of them were able to see the
lights, and they did not think the lights looked like airplanes either.
I stayed
at the stop light for a few more seconds studying the sky. I thought to
myself, there is no way that is an airplane or jet, as the lights are a
strange color, and they are not blinking, so they must be balloons? No,
I know! They must be lanterns, since they are a reddish-orange-like
bright color. They are lanterns that have been set free, like in the
movies. Yet, as I studied the sky more closely, I noticed that these
objects were NOT floating UP like a balloon or a lantern would. These
objects were very quietly moving across the sky. The
three objects were in a " V" formation,
and they were traveling across the sky towards the north, towards my
home. So, knowing my husband watches UFO stories, I rushed three houses
down and ran inside to get him. By
the time he came out with the video camera, the third one (that was the lead
light) was drifting from the other two. Its glow seemed to grow
fainter, and it seemed to be traveling further away, when all of the sudden,
it just vanished. The other two stayed in view as they traveled further
north. We all got back in the car and followed the lights for a better
view away from our huge pin oaks in our backyard. About
ten minutes later, the second light vanished just as the first had done.
We watched the last light, hoping it would not disappear as quickly. As
I was watching it, I noticed that it seemed to be changing shape, almost as
if it was in a circular motion. I remember my husband, who was
taking video on the street, telling me what he was seeing AFTER! I had
already seen it as well. Our children also seemed to have a similar
account as to what transpired. A few
minutes later, the third was gone in the same fashion as the other two.
The
four of us sat in the street, dumbfounded and perplexed by what we had just
observed. The

2012 @ 20:10 HRS. (LOCAL) - A woman, outside for her traditional star-gazing,
before going to bed, witnesses a distinctly red “sphere” streak across the
sky from the west, suddenly stop, and move in a circle in the sky. The object quickly disappear when the witness suddenly became
alarmed and took shelter in her house.

2012 @ 22:00 HRS. (PDT)
- A woman and her husband witness an orange object fly above their home and
nearby houses, where they were on duty as neighborhood security duty.
Here is their report: Glowing
orange elliptical object witnessed by 4 people in Renton, WA UFO
sighting in Renton, WA at approximately 10PM Friday night August 3,
2012 My
husband and I were completing our block watch rounds in our
neighborhood. It was completely dark except for the street
lights. I looked up and saw an orange glowing elliptical object moving
silently above the roof tops. I alerted my husband, and he saw it, too. The
object was approximately half the size of a full moon when directly
overhead. It moved at about the speed of a small plane and
appeared to be at the same altitude as a small plane. It appeared from
the north and moved in a southerly direction until we could no longer see
it. The sighting lasted approximately 30 seconds. Although the
object looked as if it were on fire, there was no smoke or smell. It
moved steadily with no sound. Our
neighbor and her daughter-in-law were driving out of our complex, and we
stopped them and had them observe the object, also. I looked
on line and determined the wind that night was out of the north at 5 to 10
mph. I called 911 and reported the sighting. My
husband and I are in our early 60s, we’re both college graduates, and we’re
retired. CROP FORMATION APPEARS IN WILBUR, WASHINGTON - A recent
formation in a standing-wheat crop near Wilbur, Washington, Lincoln County,
has gained a great deal of attention nationally. This formation appears
in the same general area where two other formations appeared in June 2007 and
June 2009. We have not examined the recent formation, but the aerial
photographs, taken with the aid of a kite-mounted camera, by Mr. Rod Hoekstra
of Seattle, suggest to us that the formation probably is not hoaxed, given
the its seemingly precise nature. We express our gratitude to Mr.

Peter Davenport. NUFORC INUNDATED WITH SIGHTING REPORTS DURING JUNE
AND JULY 2012 We
apologize for the long delay in updating our website and database of
reports. Our last posting was July 4th. The delay is
explained by the fact that we have received an unusually large volume of
reports, and we are working on a full-time basis to get them all proof-read,
and posted to our site. Part
of the explanation for the increase in sightings is the several radio
programs that Peter Davenport, NUFORC Director, has made appearances on, in
order to discuss the high volume of reports of “fireballs” that we have been
receiving since June 2011. Whereas a typical number of reports
submitted per month to NUFORC over the last 17 years has
been 250-350, during June we received 974, and we have received 1,052 during
July. The majority of the reports from the last two months appear to be
about the “fireballs,” which we have discussed frequently over the past
year. This type of sighting appears to have increased significantly, within
the last month or two, and they now dominate the reports we are
receiving. We post below a few of the reports that we have received
recently, which are exemplary of the many “fireball” reports: AIRWAY HEIGHTS/FAIRCHILD AFB, WASHINGTON,
SATURDAY, JULY 14, 2012 @ 2130 HRS. (PDT) - Three
responsible-sounding witnesses reported witnessing two “fireballs,” one red,
and one yellow, maneuvering in the nighttime sky near, and perhaps in, the
airspace of Fairchild AFB. The witnesses asserted that the two lights
suddenly accelerated, and shot up through the cloud cover. The Public
Affairs Office at the base, to date, has refused to make any comment about
the incident, although they requested all the data we could provide them
about the sighting. Two
UFO's in sky. We
saw a red and yellow light in lead with a yellow light in echelon formation
to the right of the red and yellow light. We noticed it approximately
at 1000 feet AGL flying east over Airway Heights Washington at approximately
50-70 kts. and turned
south and increased altitude to approximate 6000-1000 feet AGL.
Increased speed to approximately 200-500 kts and
disappeared out of sight. At
first they appeared to look light floating lanterns and then ascended like
helicopters with no sound. The red one went up thought the clouds and
disappeared. The yellow one appeared to maneuver through the hole in
the clouds to get to altitude and then disappeared out of sight to get to
altitude. Three

21:45 HRS. (EDT)
-A husband and wife witness an estimated 20-40 red/orange
fireballs over St. Pete Beach. The objects change direction, and

ORANGE/RED FIREBALLS TRAVELING NORTH OVER ST PETE BEACH-DISAPPEARING OVER
GULF At
approximately 9:45pm 7-14-2012, my son and I where
in the backyard of our house, which is located at
the northern end in the center of the barrier island. We were sitting
around a campfire facing south when I looked up and noticed a group of 4 or 5
bright orange/red balls of light traveling north along the coastline. At
first glance I thought they were fireworks as they are commonly shot
off on the beach, the group was then followed by another group of
approximately 6-8 lights traveling in a row at slightly uneven looking
altitudes, the groups all veered west directly toward the Gulf of
Mexico. There
was no sound from them and they did not appear to be at very high altitudes,
maybe 1500-2000ft, but quickly climbed higher. Once
they were roughly what appeared to be about a hundred yards south of the
house over the coastline, they veered west into the Gulf of Mexico and within
a few seconds would disappear. I
then thought this may be some maneuvers from! nearby
Macdill Air force base. Then, another group,
this one more spread out than the 1st two appeared and followed the same flightpath as the others and disappeared with 5-10
seconds of veering west into the gulf from the coastline. Then another
group appeared and then another, so I grabbed
my camera and began recording them. The
whole episode lasted about I’d say 10 minutes tops with approximately 20-40
orange/red balls of light passing overhead. Then
several minutes after the last group disappeared a single ball came up (like
a stragler) and followed the same route as the
others. I was able to capture about 4 mintues on my
video camera. SHAWANO, WISCONSIN, WEDNESDAY, JULY 18, 2012 @
21:20 HRS. (EDT)
- A man and wife witness two red/orange lights pass across the night sky, and
then rise into the clouds above, and disappear from their sight. Two
huge bright pulsating lights traveling slowly at low altitude from East to
West silently in a low ambient noise area. At
about 9:20 PM Central Daylight Time July 18, 2012, I was sitting with my dogs
in my driveway enjoying a fire I had built in a metal fire pit. This
location is about 300 feet from the north shore of Shawano Lake, WI, of which
I have a basically an unrestricted due south view except for a few
trees. Suddenly
to my left or east I saw what I initially considered to be a large fireworks
rocket being launched from an area east of me. I immediately noticed
that it did not explode and the trajectory was not like a fireworks
rocket. Gaining
my interest immediately, I advanced about 100 feet toward the lake to get a
better view. As I was advancing it appeared more to be a fireball with
pulsating red, yellow and orange lights. It was quite close relatively speaking
and I quickly dismissed the fireball description and thought maybe it was a
small plane on fire trying to make it to the local airport on the opposite
side of the lake about 2 miles away. The lighted object made no sound
in a virtually silent area geographically and at this point, I realized that
this was nothing I could logically identify and realized that this may in
fact be a UFO. Then
a second one showed up on the same trajectory about 2 miles behind the first
one. I turned and ran to the front door of my house and yelled to my
wife to hurry and come outside and look at these strange lights. She
had the presence of mind to grab a small Canon Power Shot SD 600 camera and
began shooting video as we advanced toward the lake shore. I/we observed
these lights travel in a straight line a total distance of about 6 miles
before entering some scattered clouds preceding some later light rain.
I could clearly see these clouds against the remaining glow of the sky from
the twilight in the West. The scattered clouds appeared to be about
4000 feet AGL. It
appeared as though these craft were traveling 150-200 MPH and clearly climbed
into the clouds about 3-4 miles to the west of our position. The
scattered cloud cover was advancing from the Northwest and preceding a light
rain which started about an hour later. These low clouds were above the
UFOs and the local surface wind and scattered clouds were blowing lightly
from the Northwest. The low cloud layer moved in the opposite relative
direction of the movement of the UFOs. The size of these craft from our
vantage point appeared to be about the size of a quarter held at arm’s
length. Our
observation and video ended when they entered the clouds. PORTLAND, OREGON, MONDAY, JULY 29, 2012 @ 2200

- A father and daughter witness an estimated 100 red “orbs” in the western
sky. The objects allegedly were seen to maneuver in the night sky, and
they are reported to have risen almost vertically into the night sky. Last
night walking north on 39th ave, my father and I
witnessed at least 100 red orbs that flashed coming from the west over the
city of Portland at 10:00 pm. At
first, we thought they were planes. We were startled. We thought our
city was going to become attacked. However, these objects were not
planes. They made no noise. They were moving slowly but steadily
at the same time. They
flashed red like a ball of fire. They would come together and then break
apart. Then they would fade as they would rise straight up in the sky. As I
continued to walk north down 39th ave, a woman in
front of me had also noticed the strange orbs in the sky and was on the phone
to her girlfriend to come out and look. I
began speaking to the women and we watched the sky. We were at the
corner of 39th and Holgate. The lights continued coming from the west
over the city of Portland and moved north up 39th ave.
Traffic had come to a stop and drivers noticed the lights in the sky. This
lasted for 15 minutes. One orb began to come in closer to us and then it
faded and went straight up in the sky and vanished. I
have some of this on video from my phone. There
were lights on this orb. We
expect to have approximately 800-900 newly received reports posted to the NUFORC
website, within the next one or two days. Many of them describe
sightings of red, orange, or yellow “fireballs,” or “orbs.” Posted on Tuesday

have just posted approximately 640 new, or recently amended, reports to our
database. Given the large number of reports, we have not been able to
proofread them carefully, so many of the reports have been posted in “raw”

suspect, are fraught with various defects and errors, which we did not have
the time to address, before posting. If you find an obviously defective

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20TH In preparation for the radio appearance, Peter has
updated the website with approximately 180 recently received, or recently
amended, sighting reports. As you read them, please be on the look-out
for errors and omissions on our part.
We always attempt to catch, and identify, reports of the International
Space Station, of “flares” of Iridium satellites, and of other prosaic events
of terrestrial origin, but we always miss a few. If you find what you believe to be an error
or oversight, please send us a note, and we will consider amending or
flagging the report. RECENT REPORT FROM SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS, 06:15
HRS. ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20, 2012 NUFORC received a report of an alleged, and very dramatic,
sighting that occurred above Highway 4 in southwest Springfield,
Illinois. The source of the
information asserted that several other vehicles were pulled off of the
roadway, and their occupants were standing, looking at a very bizarre object
which was seen hovering over the roadway for at least two minutes. If anyone knows of witnesses to this event,
please encourage them to contact our Center.
We would very much like to receive detailed reports about the event
from other witnesses. POSTED ON WEDNESDAY
NIGHT, JUNE 20TH, 2012, BY PETER DAVENPORT. FREQUENT REPORTS OF “FIREBALLS” CONTINUE,
SEEMINGLY UNABATED The
reports of peculiar luminous bodies has continued,
seemingly unabated since our last posting. We do not know what the
objects are, and the witnesses who have reported them seem as mystified by
them as we at NUFORC are. If
you see a display of red, orange, yellow, or amber lights in the night sky, there
are a few things we would like the witnesses to do, in order to preserve the
data surrounding the sighting. First, we would like each witness to
compose a short, written statement about the sighting, describing what was
seen, and what happened. We would like to know where the witnesses were
located, what direction they estimate they were looking, that angle of
elevation above the horizontal plane, how many objects were seen, how big
they looked to be (relative to a star or planet in the night sky), and how
the objects moved across the sky in front of the witness, e.g. left to right,
right to left, straight down, etc.. Also,
we would like the witnesses to telephone their local National Weather Service
office, or the nearest FAA Flight Service Station, to determine what the
direction and velocity of the local winds were, at the time of the sighting,
and include that information in their report. That information about
the prevailing winds will allow us to determine whether the objects observed were
moving in the same direction as the wind, or whether they were moving in a
direction different from that of the wind, and therefore were self-propelled.

- A gentlemen, apparently skilled in viewing the
nighttime sky, witnesses a peculiar flashing light in the sky. During
the observation, he witnessed a group of three distinctly red lights streak

have had to proof-read most of them in a hasty manner, so please be on the

suspect that there be a number of flawed reports in those we have posted, and
we will correct any defective or misleading reports as quickly as possible. ALERT!! LOST E-MAIL MESSAGES FOR MAY 30 TO JUNE 1-5,
2012 NUFORC experienced a computer ‘glitch,” which
caused us to lose some incoming e-mail for the period of May 30th to June
5th. If you sent us an e-mail during
that period, and did not receive a reply, please re-send your message. No reports, submitted via our Online Report
Form, were lost, so there is no need to re-submit a report, if you submitted

REPORTS OF RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, AND AMBER “FIREBALLS” Over the course of the last year, NUFORC has
attempted to bring to the attention of the public the fact that there has
been a substantial increase in the number of sightings of unusual
“fireball-like” objects. In some
cases, the objects appear in small numbers, but they also are reported to
occur in clusters of a dozen, or more.
The colors reported for these objects are red, orange, yellow, or
amber. In some cases, more than one
color is reported by the witnesses. The reports submitted for sightings on the evening
of Saturday, May 19, are a case in point.
In particular, we would like to call your attention to the sighting
reports of an estimated nine orange objects from both St. Peters, Missouri,
located near St. Louis, as well as from Republic, Missouri, located in the
southwest corner of Missouri, near Springfield. The events appear to have occurred within
perhaps 20-30 minutes of one another, and we have no adequate explanation for
them. Also, the reports from Beacon
Rock State Park, Washington State, for Saturday, June 02nd, 2012, are
illustrative of the phenomenon. We provide below a few links to some of the better

APPEARANCE ON COAST-TO-COAST WITH HOST, GEORGE KNAPP, AT MIDNIGHT (PACIFIC TIME ZONE) ON MONDAY MORNING, MARCH 19, 2012 ALERT - We respectfully request that people refrain from reporting the two bright planets, Venus and Jupiter, which currently are dramatically visible in the west, and northwest, sky during the mid- and late-evening hours. Because Venus is close to Earth, at present, it appears exceptionally large, and quite bright. Consequently, NUFORC is receiving many, many reports from people who do not recognize it for what it truly is, and they are calling the NUFORC Hotline frequently. We would be grateful if people would please not telephone our Hotline about those two planets. QUALITY OF REPORTS - Once again, we make an appeal to everyone submitting written reports to please 1) compose your statement about your sighting, using a word-processing program, and 2) please spell-check the text of your statement, before submitting it with our Online Report Form. The quality of many of the recent reports submitted to our Center is lamentably, almost unbelievably, poor, which makes them difficult to proof-read. In the future, we may change our policy, and not post any report, which clearly has not undergone a spell-check or proof-reading process. Thank you! Posted Friday night, March 16, 2012, by Peter Davenport, Director 15th ANNIVERSARY OF THE “PHOENIX LIGHTS” SIGHTING We update our website on the 15th Anniversary of the “Phoenix Lights” sighting, which occurred Thursday night, March 13, 1997. We commemorate the event with an appearance, this evening, on the Jeff Rense Radio Program, together with two of the principal witnesses, Mrs. Sue Watson, and Mrs. Stacey Roads. Mrs. Watson was at her home, located just south of Camelback Mountain, at the time of the event, with four of her children, who also saw the object hovering above them. Mrs. Roads was traveling northwest with her husband and two children on Interstate 10, when they witnessed a huge triangular craft coming at them from the northwest, and which ultimately blanketed out the sky above their vehicle! RECENTLY SUBMITTED REPORTS POSTED ON MARCH 13, 2012 We have posted approximately 500 newly received reports to our website, as of this date. We have proof-read the reports, to the best of our ability, but there is always the possibility that hoaxes and cases of mistaken identity may have escaped our attention. Hence, we request that visitors to our site be on the lookout for errors in any of the reports that are posted in the sighting database, and call obvious, or suspected, errors to our attention by sending a note to director@UFOCenter.com. We will attempt to correct the errors as quickly as possible. CHANGE IN POLICY REGARDING SIGHTING REPORTS SUBMITTED TO NUFORC Our greatest frustration is how much better our service to the public would be if the quality of the written reports submitted to our Center were higher. Many of the reports we receive are just a sentence or two long, and far too many of them are so poorly written, it is almost impossible to understand what the witness wishes to communicate. Consequently, we are preparing statements regarding what to do in the case of a sighting, and what information we would like to have included in a report. Also, we are considering a policy of not posting a report, if it obviously has not been run through a “spell-check” process. The principal reason that it takes us so long to process and post new reports is because apparently many of the people who submit them either do not read, or do not heed, the three simple instructions we have posted on our Online Report Form. Many people include their names, or other personal information, in the “Description” box on the report form, which we ask them not to do, and all of that personal information has to be deleted, before the report can be posted. It is a tedious, laborious, and quite time consuming, process to detect all of that personal information, and then delete it, before the report is posted to our site. Please watch for announcements on our homepage about the new instructions that we will post, in the near future. SIGHTING REPORTS UPDATED ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 24, 2012 We have posted approximately 240 new, or amended, sighting reports, received as of this date. We have proof-read them to our greatest ability, but as we always request of the visitors to our site, please be on the look-out for errors, omissions, and oversights on our part.
We received a sighting report, and several interesting photographs, from a very experienced airline pilot, who inadvertently captured a very strange, high-speed, object with his camera, as he was flying his Grumman “Albatross” from Seattle to Los Angeles. We post below two of the photos he forwarded to NUFORC, and request that anyone who can identify the object please contact our Center. In our opinion, the object appears to be reminiscent of an SR-71, but we are not aware that they are painted in international orange. Full Report High Res Photo #1 High Res Photo #2 REPORTS OF RED, ORANGE, AND YELLOW “FIREBALLS” HAVE NOT ABATED NUFORC has addressed this phenomenon over the last year and a half, and recent reports suggest to us that it continues. We invite the visitors to our site to scan the reports for the last several months, an note the number of reports which describe these peculiar objects, for which we cannot come up with a logical explanation. WEBSITE AND DATABASE UPDATED ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 12TH, 2012 We have proof-read, and posted, approximately 600 new written reports to our database, as of this date, our first posting since December 17th. We have proof-read the reports in a somewhat hasty manner this time, so there probably is an abnormally large number of items that we have missed during our survey of the reports. Consequently, we request, as we always do, that visitors to our website keep on the alert for errors and oversights in the newly posted reports and materials. We have attempted to remove, or label, those reports which we believe describe sightings that are not UFO-related. In addition, we have attempted to detect and remove profanity, personal information, and other objectionable material from all the reports, but we suspect we have not managed to properly detect all of it. If you find what you suspect is an obvious error or oversight, please let us know, and we will address the issue immediately. Whereas typically, NUFORC has been receiving and posting approximately 10 credible reports per day, in recent months, that volume has increased noticeably. As an example, NUFORC received approximately fifty reports on December 31st, 2011, and approximately sixty on the following day!! Many of those reports were submitted by seemingly quite credible sources, and interestingly, many of them appear to address similar events, i.e. clusters of red-, orange-, or yellow-colored lights. We invite visitors to our website to scan the reports for December 2011 and January 2012, which will provide them with a good overview of the volume of reports of that nature that we have received recently. In fact, many similar reports can be seen in the data for last summer, an issue we addressed as the phenomenon was occurring last year. We just received some interesting video of a sighting of orange “fireballs,” apparently seen by a group of young people over Corpus Christi, TX, on the evening of December 28, 2011. We will post this video tomorrow. It is not atypical of the many still photos and video clips of similar objects, which have been forwarded to our Center, over recent months. If anyone has witnessed one of these events, or had any other type of interesting sighting, we would like to encourage all the witnesses to submit reports, using our Online Report Form, which can be found on this website. We will be posting more information to our website, in the near future. Most of all, we hope to post soon some guidelines for preparing, and submitting, written sighting reports. There is substantial room for improvement in the quality of reports we typically receive, and we are going to attempt to incorporate a few changes in the reporting process. NUFORC POSTS NEW SIGHTING REPORTS ON DECEMBER 12 (940) and December 16 (56) Following a Herculean session of proof-reading of more than
1,000 new reports, received since October 25th, we have posted all
those reports to our website. We apologize for the delay in updating
the site, and we address below the issue of how people can help us get newly
received reports posted more promptly. We are certain that there are errors and omissions that we
have failed to detect, so we invite the visitors to our site to be on the
alert for things that have escaped our attention. We suspect that there
are many reports posted to our site, which address “twinkling” stars,
“flares” caused by Iridium satellites, over-flights of the International
Space Station, and out-and-out hoaxes, and which have escaped our attention
during the proof-reading process. Many of the reports have been
proof-read in the early morning hours, so a few errors and oversights on our
part are almost a certainty. If, in the course of reading the reports, you find a
suspicious report or fact, please “Copy & Paste” the heading of the
report into an e-mail, addressed to director@ufocenter.com, and we will look
at the report, and amend it, if we believe a change is warranted. A FEW NOTEWORTHY REPORTS We list below links to a few reports that we believe deserve

different from many others, but they simply have caught our attention, for

EUREKA SPRINGS, ARKANSAS, DECEMBER 11, 2011, @ 2000 HRS. - Three people see an estimated 8 orange objects pass from south to north in the night sky, covering approximately 60 degrees of arc in an estimated five minutes. Two more lights appeared shortly after the first group had disappeared, and followed approximately the same path as the first group had followed. A husband and wife witness an intensely orange object move across the sky, turn yellow, and suddenly gain altitude and disappear from their sight. Full Report SHERMAN PASS, WASHINGTON STATE, NOVEMBER 23RD, 2011, @ 2300 hrs. - A young woman, driving from Colville to Republic, for Thanksgiving, witnesses a cluster of white flashing lights off to the north side of Highway 20. She slows her car, in attempt to identify the lights, and quickly realizes that they are affixed to a very large object. The object proceeded to move slowly over her car. She drives past the other vehicle slowly, rounds the next curve, and then witnesses a bizarre curved row of quadrilateral lights ahead of her. The lights appear to be moving away from her position, and then they suddenly begin to disappear from her sight, as if a curtain is being drawn over them. After 32 years in the Seattle area, the
National UFO Reporting Center is moving to a new locale in eastern
Washington, a decommissioned U. S. Air Force ICBM missile base, located
between the towns of Davenport and Harrington, WA, in Lincoln County. This
photo of our new "digs" shows the property as it looked in the
