Large mass of blinking lights that splits into 2 and moves in different directions.

I saw a large mass of blinking lights from my living room window that caught my eye. It was blinking rapidly unlike an aircraft.

After I was looking at out for about a minute or so, the mass split into 2 separate balls of light. The first ball of light dropped down and the other continued on it previous course. Very strange.
