The Kecksburg event, eyewitness.

I was pumping gas into a car at a Sohio gas station on Detroit Road, Rocky River, OH. It was late afternoon approaching evening.

Saw bright reflection in rear car bumper on car I was filling, turned and looked North West and saw super bright fireball heading South. Sparks blazing, it looked like it split up but went behind trees and we lost sight of it. Witnesses were myself, station owner and customer.

Next day, the newspaper Plain Dealer had a story about the Tri-State Meteor. It turned out it was the Kecksburg object. Sure looked like a meteor to me, but have never since seen one so bright. It appeared to be traveling horizontally, and very fast. The smoke trail stayed around for a while and corkscrewed into a twisty illuminated line.
