illuminated discs over Long Island

The discs were bright white but not like paint and not like a sun reflection. They were more like 40 watt light bulbs. They moved rapidly from east to west above and much higher than my parents oak tree tops. I was 13 years old and standing in a clear field next to our property. I was excited and pointed them out to my mother who was with me and saw them as well. All she said was "Oh My God." At 71 years old now I can still picture this vividly. This was reasonably close to Long Island MacArthur Airport whose planes usually followed similar track prior to landing.The only sound was me pointing and yelling.
