Driving over a bridge i saw a bright light that zig- zagged and disappeared

Driving over a bridge, i saw what i thought was a very bright star in my peripheral vision and after about 10 seconds of it being there, i looked at it and it immediately zig- zagged left, right, left, then finally it went straight down and disappeared like switching off a light switch.
