Half moon shape over San Francisco Bay

At first, I thought it was a airplane or a helicopter, but it went too slow for an airplane and it was shaped differently from a helicopter. It was shaped in the front like a half moon circle. I thought it might be a blimp, but again it did not have the shape of a blimp. There were lights in the front that blinked in sequential order with bright colored lights, then it would stop for a second, then the lights would start again. The object was over the San Francisco Bay, I was driving over the bridge so I could not stop, but I noticed another car had pulled over and they may have been looking at the same object. I have never believed in ufo's, but this one changed my mind. I use to be in the Air Force and have never seen anything craft like it before.
