Saw two bright stars but one changed colors, seemed to not move at all and i saw an aircraft pass nearby that was very different.

While driving home I noticed two bright stars in a completely black sky, no other visible stars present so they caught my attention. At each red light I noticed they were not moving, the “star” to the right was noticeably larger and had almost an aura of reds and greens coming from it. I kept telling myself it must be an airplane but then I saw an airplane fly across the sky and the scale of it was incredibly different. The plane was much smaller than either star and clearly moving whereas the stars were not. Again I saw no other stars in the sky, something about their distance to one other was very symmetrical as well.
