Spotted 3 red lights in the shape of triangle

While observing how clear the sky was, and taking notice of the stars/satellites in the sky. I observed 3 red/amberish lights appear to burst out of a cloud over possibly "Black forest" on the north end of Colorado Springs. The object was traveling in the direction of "Cripple Creek" Colorado. It cleared this entire potential distance in a roughly 6-7 second window. That is 30 or so miles traveled in 6-7 seconds. It made zero notice, briefly banked sideways, flattened out again, and had no visible exhaust trail on a clear dark night sky. I had 1 witness with me who observed it only in the last second or even half second before it vanished.

Notable to this, I observed what could be described as heat waves or haze coming off of the entire mass as you would see looking at the hot tar of a street on a hot day. I have been to many many many air shows in my life time and have seen many jets fly including F-117 and B52s. This was none of them. We regularly have jets fly over in Colorado Springs due to norad and many other military bases. I also called my wife to report to her what I had just seen moments later and she stated there was alot of static coming off of my phone (Outside in a parking lot with 0 wind)

Interesting and last final note after viewed a Map of the area - the route this air craft flew would have been dang near directly over the Air Force Academy.
