A triangular shaped flying object, during daylight hours.

This happened years ago, sorry, but I've recently seen video and reports of something similar to what I witnessed around 1977. I was in my room, in northern California, when I happened to look out of my window, and notice a strange object flying in a horizontal position in the sky. To me, it appeared to have a triangular shape, but at the same time, it looked like it was spinning, as it was moving forward. But the weird thing is it kept its triangular shape instead of becoming a diamond shaped craft - from the spinning motion. Hard to explain, but it looked like it had some sort of power to partially become invisible, but not entirely.
