I saw several white volleyball sized and shaped white orbs in the sky rotating all around each other with no obvious pattern

I was outside my house having a cigarette looking up at a clear blue sky following an airplane passing over my house from the northwest heading southeast right over my property. As I watched it pass over I saw two hawks flying high up in the sky but still well well below the airliner. As I went to refilling the airliner I saw below it and slightly west of it now a cluster of somewhere between 10 to 16 objects which I would describe as bright white orbs and through my eyes looked to be about tennis size but by approximately estimating what their size would be based upon how far away they looked I would guess that they must have been at least volleyball size if not larger as in a basketball. I watched them uninterrupted for about 20 seconds trying to figure out what I was seeing as they were all buzzing around each other but with no sense of a pattern, yet perfectly avoiding colliding with each other. I then decided that I should grab my wife to see but when I went inside she was tending to our toddler and when I went back out to look it had become cloudy in the sky and I could no longer see any trace of them. I have no idea what it could possibly be just that what I described is what I saw.
