Rectangular craft seen at close range in the sky

Was outside on a clear winter day when I saw a rectangular craft moving across the sky from my left to right. I had a good view of it as I was on an open snow covered field with no trees or buildings around to block my sight. It was travelling about as fast as a car at highway speed (in the sky) and slower than you would expect an aircraft to be travelling. It was on a South-North trajectory I was facing West. It seemed quite low in altitude maybe 500' and relatively close. I noticed no noise, no exhaust sounds. It was metallic silver in colour with a checkerboard pattern on the underside, two red squares 2 silver. The craft size approximately 15' wide 25' long and only 2-3 foot high.

As I watched the unknown craft cross the sky it accelerated very very fast to the North, It was silent. Instant acceleration. Gone.
