Sort of resembled a helicopter, but back part was tubular. One main bright light, red & green lights close on each side. Main one dipped fast for about 10-20ft. Others followed in evenly spaced straight line. After about 4-5 minutes they totally vanished.

The light was slightly bigger at first than a star. At first I thought it was a falling star, because it shot down toward earth fast, then levelled off, and sort-of just hovered there. It had a green light on one side, and a red light on the other, very close to the big light. I didn't notice these lights at first, as it seemed like it was coming closer. The big light seemed about as big as a softball, maybe a bit larger. I would have thought it was a plane, except the lights on either side of the big one were too close. The three lights following it, was the shape of a circle with tubular tails, that I could barely see against the dark sky. They were in perfect sequence, then disappeared. They were directly overtop of a hill to the left of the highway. I have never known helicopters or planes to fly that way.
