bright wierd fast motions

Woke up to bright light out of window towards north over ridge about midnight.looked like a welding torch light going up and down and in circles near the ridge north of me.Wierd motions uncapapble of helicopter or plane.the went down over ridge out of sight,lasted 5 minutes very bright.
