Linear formation in sky

This happened at approximately 1800 hours on 02/06/13.

Travelling as passenger in a car with my GF heading east.

Sky was clear.

I could stars in the sky and this formation definitely was not stars.

Could see linear formation of red and blue/white lights.

Lights did not flash. Formation was heading NE.

Formation appeared to be very long considering the space it took up in the sky.

Witnessed formation for approximately 20-30 seconds before the formation just vanished from the sky.

This was witnessed at the same time by my GF as well.
