My friends and i saw many red lights above jefferson city

It was a Saturday when me and my friends noticed a lot of bright red lights in the sky. The objects did not seem to move until we got about 100 yards away. Every object was shaped as an x. They were all moving in some type of formation. All a sudden, they took off and dissipeard in a flash.
