|An experienced amateur astronomer photographed an unusual object in the night sky. It could not be identified.
A scientist, who is also an experienced amateur astronomer, was watching the sky and doing some astrophotography late one night from the deck of his home. He visually observed a "fuzzy patch" luminosity near the end of the Big Dipper. The object hung motionless for 30 minutes as he took several photographs with his digital camera. The object could not be identified as a star, planet, comet, meteor, satellite or aircraft. He insists on anonymity and will not allow publication of any of the photographs.
