While I was driving, a green light streaked so low overhead that I thought it was going to crash into the hills.

I was driving my husband and I north on Highway 395, and we were approximately thirty-five miles north of Spokane, WA. It was a clear dark night, and the temperature was about 21 degrees F. Around 9:17 p.m. a green light streaked above the road going from left to right. It was traveling very fast and low, and I thought it might crash into the hills. The pick-up truck in front of us must have seen it too, because they pulled left off the road (there was a turnout for semi-trucks on the left hand side of the road). They (I could tell there were several people in the truck) positioned their truck facing in the direction of where the crash site might have been. While I kept driving, my husband looked for signs of smoke or a fire from a crash (the vegetation is tinder dry, and anything can start a blaze right now). He saw nothing. The truck that pulled off, finally came back on the road and passed us.

Background: I have a masters degree in Organizational Leadership. My husband was looking down at the time, and he did not see the green object (earlier in the day, he had a minor procedure for treatment of a heel spur, and the doctor had given him a mild sedative).
