| On Valentines night we were on the interstate going home after eating out in Fargo ND when suddenly we witnessed an explosion in the sky at a very high altitude. It caused a bright green flash that lit up a small section of the night sky and quickly subsided. My wife had said did you see that, I replied yes, and to keep track of the time so we can check Heavans Above.com to see if that was an Iridium Flare or some other type of celestial event. I checked and could not find anything that occured at precisely 20:17. The night was very dark with a lot of stars visible. No moon present, brightest object in the sky was Venus which was to the West. The explosion looked like a glowing donut for a second then shrank really fast into nothing. There was no streak of light no meteor tail or anything just an explosion/ flash of light then nothing. There were other car cars on the interstate at that time so this may not be the only report. |
