Shape:

a perfect ring around the moon

there was a huge ring around the moon perfect in shape everything around the moon was clear as crystal, till the edge of clouds? ring around was solid white almost like ivory, and the size of the ring was about a fourth of the total sky. would like to know what this is and what causes it

We suspect the ring may have been caused by ice crystals in the Earth's atmosphere. PD
