|Hovering object with strong light beam in Algonquin Park.
We were canoe-camping in the interior of Algonquin Park. My friend and I were sitting at the edge of the lake when my friend noticed a zig-zagging light rapidly approaching over the tree line. It zigged its way over to the lake, stopped, and while hovering (silently) just across the bay from us - lit up the lake with what looked like a strong searchlight beam. It lit up the lake for about 30 seconds and then turned the beam off, hovered, then suddenly took off diagonally skywards at a speed we'd never seen before. We watched until it disappeared from view. Oddly enough, we then went straight to our tents and slept through the night. Due to the strong beam, we could not accurately see its shape.
