tiny bright flashing lights in a formation changing into organised patterns

me and my 2 sons saw the objects like lots of flashing lights staying in one place but changing shape going in circles, they also changed colour at times and turned into red flashing shapes. we were all amazed, it was over a church but seemed very high up,it was nothing we could think of as normal
