Red Sphere seen in middle of day

We witnessed a basketball sized bright red sphere with no real mass defination to it. It came out of no where and hovered in front of windshield for a few seconds and took off as fast as it appeared. This took place in the middle of the day on a dirt road surrounded by wooded area.
