the object was stationary then moved horizotally and away at the same time across the night sky

i was standing outside looking up at the stars must have been 3 maybe 5 minutes when suddenly the star that i was looking at moved across the sky at what i would estimate to be more thatn 500 miles an hour maybe a thousand. it moved as one point of light it didnt streak like a comet or meteorite. it seemed to be moving horizontally and away at the same time. with in a second or two it was out of sight
