Green glowing meteor-like object streaks across sky and disappears behind tree-line

The object was green and glowing. It streaked across the sky, at a 45 degree trajectory. It was already low when it came into view and disappeared over some trees, probably about 2 to 3 kilometres away, moving further away. The were no distinguishing features to the object. It was moving too fast to be man-made. I would have said that it was a meteor, apart from the fact that it was glowing green.
