| BRIGHT FLASH NJ FOLLOWED BY ACCELERATED OBJECT On Tuesday, March 27th at approximately 05:37 while outside of my residence tending to my two-year old dog (-74.49107 – 40.22451) in Millstone Twp. Monmouth County NJ, I observed a brilliant white flash in the northern sky approximately 60-70 degrees above the horizon. The flash was in a circular fashion and encompassed the area occupied by a basketball held at arms length, (for reference). Immediately following this observation, I an orange comet like object exit the flash and accelerate at a phenomenal speed directly upward into the sky. This distance that the object traveled would be estimated at the size of a one foot ruler held at arms length. The sky was overcast, however some stars were visible. My initial thought was that I observed a comet; however the object traveled upward out of the atmosphere. As a side note, I had reported a similar daylight observation years ago, although that was a daylight sighting in clear conditions. This event was in the same region / quadrant of the sky and I was positioned 30 feet from the last event. No other witnesses at this writing. No photos or video. The entire event lasted 1-1.5 seconds |
