| "Shooting star" that didn't burn up but moved across the sky from east to west, then turned right just above the horizon. On the night of 7/27-7/28 I was on Sanibel Island, Florida and wasn’t sleeping well. At about 3:30 I got out of bed to look at the moon. I was facing south looking at the sky when, at approximately 3:40 I saw what I thought was a shooting star. I noticed it when it was just about directly above and it was moving from East to West across the sky. I waited for it to burn out, but it didn’t. When it was about 30 degrees above the horizon I started to loose it among the leaves of a palm tree, and it seemed to take a right hand turn. I then lost sight of it. It was moving too fast to be a plane and was not on the flight paths that I am aware of. The whole incident took about 8 seconds.
