| Meteor like fireball witnessed on a clear sunny midafternoon. While horseback riding in south Phoenix near Baseline Road at 32nd Street I witnessed an orange fireball descending in the southern sky. It appeared to be traveling in a southeasterly direction and disappeared behind South Mountain. It was very similar to seeing a meteor on a dark night, but occurred in midafternoon on a clear sunny day. Space debris? And no, I had not been drinking or engaging in other mind altering activities. |
