Tear Drop shaped craft at high altitude

Was sitting, watching passing dark clouds that appeared to be threatening rain! While a break in the clouds shielded my eyes from direct sunlight, I saw at what I presume was very high altitude, because of the very small size of the object, a metallic silver teardrop shaped craft without wings move slowly toward the North and then just as suddenly vanish! Watched the sky for several more minutes before the dark clouds again blocked my view, but never saw the object reappear. I am sure it was not a plane! No wings of any kind visible and no sound. Wind was at high altitude not ground level, therefore listened but could hear no sound of engines.
