Orange lights in the Eastern Michigan sky.

We were outside in the early evening I do not recall the time. I noticed some orange lights in the sky. My kids thought that they were planes because we live near a military base. They moved in a different way than a plane and the planes here do not have orange lights. They were not moving like a helicopter either. They were a different shape, almost like an oval-ish triangle. They moved horizontally and were low in the sky, then changed directions and made a diagonal shift upwards then again until they disappeared. We watched them for a good 10 minutes. There were 2 of them that we noticed. They were not moving simultaneously and they were a slight distance apart. The one disappeared before the other.
