| White focused beam not moving, no sound, no origination point and not reaching the ground. I seen a focused beam with no origination point beaming from the sky, it didn't touch the ground and didn't move, it had no sound, I witnessed this sighting for approximately 20 seconds. It is the first time I have seen something in the sky that I couldn't identify. About 15 minutes later what appeared to be commercial air traffic passed through the area where I seen this sighting and their altitude was approximately 25-35,000 feet and all navigation lights where visible with sound heard. This reinforces my belief that the sky was cloudless and that what I seen wasn't an aircraft landing light etc. The sighting was approximately 165 degrees true bearing with an elevation angle from the horizon of approximately 5.
