Red lights over Laurel Montana

On March 10, 2011, at 0:15, I had arrived home from work. I put a leash on my dog’s collar so he could relieve himself on the tree in the back yard. I heard a bang and my dog got creeped out and jumped. I tried to console him and he (my dog) was looking up to the sky, I could not believe what I had seen. This object was hovering above the trees and houses. This object was in a triangle formation with about seven reddish/orange lights. These lights were not probing and this object was not making a noise. This object looked as if it was in a vee formation much like what ducks looks like when they flock together. It hovered over the treetops for close to a minute then moved east, slowly. It was a clear night and oddly quiet all around me.
