super bright lights hovering above tree line

driving down a two lane road in the we hrs of the morning.. i seen a super bright light, as i approached closer my radio went all screwy n statically.. i have never ever seen a bright light in that area ever before had no idea lights could be that bright!!! lights were hovering above tree line as i passed and look in rear view mirror lights seem to have disappeared with in an instant,...never went home that way again for a long while lights were only seen for apprx 10-20 minutes
