was using the new sky map app for my phone, and looked at a bight star...it didn't appear on the sky map so I was puzzled.

Out of nowhere the light from the unknwn star just dimed 50% and the took off. However I first thought it was space rock falling, but space rock doesn't change directions. It Still has me wondering.
