Dim lights moving rapidly across sky

On Wednesday, August 24, 2011, and again on Friday August 26, 2011,at about 9:30 to 10:00 pm, I was standing on my porch and looking at a star through a gap in some trees.

I also noticed a much fainter reddish star which seemed to be moving. As I watched it picked up speed and arced behind the trees. The distance seemed to be substantial but I could not hazard a guess. I’m guessing because the object was very small and faint and could easily be missed.

Then I saw another one and then another and another. Probably happened 7 or 8 times when I went inside to have my wife look,(to make sure I wasn’t crazy).

She came out but we only saw one more.

I looked again on Thursday night but it was after 11pm and I saw nothing.

On Friday night, I went out at about the same time that I saw them on Wednesday and sure enough, I started seeing them again.

They seem not to move fast at first but then accelerate rapidly and usually arcing either north or south. At least one did go in a straight line from approximately north to south. Whether one craft reappearing or several I do not know.

This morning I went out and checked my landmarks and came in and brought up goole earth. When I run a straight line from my position through the direction I was looking, I end up over McChord afb.

These lights did not look like planes to me. I saw no blinking lights and if they were over McChord, they were much faster than any type of plane, military or not, that I’m aware of. Maybe some kind of flare but that doesn’t account for their pattern of flight nor speed.

I’m a skeptic on ufo sightings but do think there are real sightings of things that cannot be eexplained. I think these probably have some sort of military hardware explanation but I’d like to know what it is.

Continued from my other report.

Went out about 10 after 9 tonight and they were there again. I then looked in a more southerly direction and they were over in that direction also. Most start at a point in sky and angle down from right to left. Some were going straight up and some actually did loops. A couple of times I'd see them appear to stop and turn sharply and go the other way. Trees still block lower sight.

Then I went out into the yard and to my surprise I was able to pick them out almost everywhere I looked.

This made me think that maybe they were bats or birds with town lights reflecting but bats wouldn't and they just don't fly like birds. Tried to imagine they were moths but they sure don't fly like moths either.

Don't know how many nights it may continue
