|flying, dripping red-orange globs over San Diego
Looked up at sky approx 11pm Tues evening - may be off an hour - and saw what appeared to be a bright red-orange airplane light low in SW sky, moving slowly as if it was a small plane. No detail, just a light. Really impressed me as a plane, as plenty of small aircraft fly over my area near Montgomery Field. As it got closer it got bigger - no sound, and it was moving in a straight line. Then it started slowly dripping small globs of red-orange light straight down (in direction of ground). This continued for about a minute, then with the final "drip" the thing was extinguished itself and disappeared. By that time it had moved from SW to W sky. Strangely, this was the second time I'd seen this happen: about a year ago, an identical thing took place around 2am high in sky moving from S to N...that time it did not extinguish itself, but kept moving, got smaller, and finally disappeared into the N sky..plenty of "drips" that time, too.
