|Orange light flying over Hermiston, Oregon
While leaving a building in downtown Hermiston, Oregon, this evening, I saw a bright orange light in the north-northwestern sky. It was moving in a steady line, rising like an aircraft gaining altitude. The color of the light was not the standard aviation red, but an orange color, with a tinge of white, that flickered rather than strobed. It was not a color typically produced by electric lights or LED's. At first I thought it was Mars, but it was too bright and it was moving. About an inch behind it (from my perception) there was an intermittent white flash - a tiny light the size of a satellite, but following the orange light. As the orange light rose, it began to fade and eventually disappeared, as did the white light. I also caught a red light of the same size as the white light flash only once. This was a standard aviation/LED red and could have been an aircraft.
