Boomerang Object seen over Atherton, Manchester 7.45 p.m.

I was outside at the back of the house looking at stars when I noticed in the distance what appeared to be a cloud, it was a clear night so I thought this cloud to be strange, I focused on the object and I noticed it was moving towards my direction, as it got closer its shape got more defined, it was a large boomerang shape and as I looked it appeared to be surrounded by fluid, the outside of the object seemed to be shimmering all over, it was very difficult to see and I had to keep my focus on it so I didn't lose it, the object was totally silent and was travelling in a westerly direction.

I would say it was flying about the height a light aircraft would be flying. As it moved across the sky the stars were blinking out then reappearing as the object moved across the sky.
