A light in the sky, go figure.

I went outside to light a smoke. It was so calm. I usually look up every night...nice view of the stars considering not too far away from the city. I look up, and I see an orange light. Just hovering...very high, super high, out of atmosphere high. I figured it was a planet. I kept staring. It seemed to be moving to the right, as I kept studying it, it seemed as if it has a very long object of some sort sticking out of it, could just be my eyes doing it from squinting, but as I did squint...that seemed to even get more defined...not sure whats going on here.
