I apologize for not being able to give complete details as to what happened. This was something I witnessed as a young child and there are things I simply cannot remember. I was approximately five years old at the time this event took place. The year would have been around 1970. The exact date and time cannot be established. It was a beautiful sunny day, typical of most days in Puerto Rico. My account is mundane, but it is the true.

My father was in the US Navy, stationed in San Juan, Puerto Rico. My parents were visiting friends who lived near a playground. Across the street from the playground was an empty beach. My older brother and I went to the playground along with the children of my parent’s friends. We had only been there a short while when we witnessed a silver saucer shaped craft either fall or land in the ocean. I don’t recall details of the actual descent; but it didn’t make much of a splash. It just bobbed in the water. No one emerged from the craft.

"I think we’d better go in now," my brother said. We went inside and did not mention what we’d seen to our parents until years later.

At the time of the sighting I was not afraid, though my brother seemed apprehensive. I know there were cars traveling on the road between our location and the ocean, and I’ve often wondered if anyone else saw what we did.
