Bright white, red and green flashing object to the west of Greensboro, NC

The first craft we noticed was just above the tree line to the West. It was oval; a little bigger than the stars. It was bright white with red and green flashing lights. Not twinkling like the stars but flashing in a pattern. The other 3 objects were considerably smaller to the south west in line with the first object. They were all stationary except for the one closest to the largest one we had originally seen. It slowly drifted upward. Kind of like a balloon would float up. We watched them for about a half an hour with no major changes and then had to come in for the night. I've never seen that before but it scared me a little because my daughter told me about 2 weeks ago, she was woken up by the sound of a jet and looked out to see a red " fireball moving harizontally across the sky and I told her it was probably just a falling star, but now I wonder....
