|orange red oval of light in vadnais heights
On 070712 at approximately 1130pm at night I was in the driveway of my girlfriend’s house at in Vadnais Heights MN. The evening was calm, cool and clear with just a little cloud cover in the sky. We were talking about the fun evening we just had at my sister’s house when my girlfriend pointed to direct my attention to an object in the northwest sky that she was seeing..as we were looking at it my girlfriend was wondering out loud if it was a satellite or a piece of space debris burning up ..I was silent as I observed the object flying through the evening sky. Both of us saw this bright red-orange light that was rather large (nickel size I think if one were to hold a coin up to block it from your view). I remember not talking as I intensely observed the object..it was flying in a straight line probably 5-7 miles away several hundred feet up(airplane altitude) and traveling at a normal rate that a an airplane or helicopter might travel..and going from nort! herly to a southerly direction. I remember looking for running lights or flashing lights on a tail or wing of the craft –and I could find none. I remember telling my girlfriend that I didn’t think it was a falling piece of space debris because the object was going in a straight direction from north to south and it wasn’t travelling fast enough to be falling from the sky..I also told her that I didn’t think it was a satellite because it was too low in the atmosphere. The red-orange light made us think maybe it was a plane on fire..but we didn’t see any flickering flames at all..just a steady orange red light. We observed the object until it got southwest of my girlfriend’s house and then it made a normal (not a sharp or a very gradual )turn to the west-southwest away from us..it was at this point that the red –orange light quickly flickered and vanished and the object became a pinpoint of light.still visible but barely, that accelerated at a very startling velocity away f! rom us. We could still see no flashing lights on a tail or win! gs of th e object even then. The pinprick of light then vanished entirely in hazy cloud cover, darkness and distance. I nor my girlfriend to this day have no idea what the thing could have been ..neither one of us have ever seen a ufo before and neither one of have the desire to see another one again.
