Occurred: 2012-09-06 22:00 Local
Reported: 2012-09-06 23:16 Pacific
Duration: hour +
No of observers: 3

Location: Albuquerque, NM, USA

Shape:
Characteristics: Lights on object, Aircraft nearby

My view is East of the object looking West toward it. I look over an earth berm so my horizon is limited. I have been an RN for 21 years and I am not prone to panic, I don't see UFO's every time I turn around. I am 60 years old. I am a trifle far sighted.

Of the other two observers, one is ex Navy and the other has a Masters degree in communication.

I have been in this home for 18 years and am very familiar with my piece of the night sky, both summer and winter. I have never seen anything like this. The same object appears in the Western sky each night at about 22:00. I first noticed it Thursday (8/30) and have seen it every night since, except Monday, however, there were clouds in and out of the sky that night in my area. The object hangs for about an hour is no longer visible to me at 23:00. It approaches f! rom the South and appears the about 50-60 degrees above the horizon, over the hour, it heads North about 40 degrees and then heads West until it becomes too small to see easily, and then disappears. The same pattern repeats every night. It makes no noise at all. NONE.

It has a bank of lights that flash red and green that are on the top and North/right side only, the South side of the object is bright white. The shape is oval(ish) but it curves inward on the bottom.

I can easily identify the planes that approach and leave the area, all are obvious and I can hear them. This object is completely quiet. An Osprey or a Harrier or any kind of heliocopter would make some sort of sound. Jets can't hang in the air like this does.

Also, on Saturday last, 9/1, it was accompanied by streks of light that approached in one set of 3 lights, from South to North, two sets of 2 light came in, one set approached from the South to North, the other set of 2 approached from the North to South and there were several single streaks. Only one that I saw approached from top to bottom, which would have been East to West. One streak, the last one I! saw, appeared from North to South and appeard to vere off halfway through. All approched at the same angle, maybe a 15 or 20 degree angle, and all had the same length "jet trail." The light trails lasted a couple of seconds. All were headed to the same location - which was about where the object was hanging in the sky. The streaks started at about 23:30 on Saturday and continued through Saturday night and again on Sunday night. The last streak I saw was at 04:15 Sunday AM. I saw none during the daylight hours. I saw eleven streaks total and have seen none since...I have never seen these types of lights in the sky. Let me know if you find anything. This has me stumped!
