Reported: 2012-10-21 07:15 Pacific
Duration: 90 seconds
No of observers: 2

Location: Virginia Beach, VA, USA

Shape:

Observed a fast moving spherical object moving horizontally across the eastern horizon.

Very bright red/orange spherical object 30 degrees above the horizon traveling in a north to south direction at constant very high speed. Speed faster than any planets or stars, but much slower than the Orionoid asteroids visible that night.

Come into view at about 150 degrees on the eastern horizon and lost its lighting at about 170 degrees.

We observed 2 recurrences within 2 min of dissipation, each was lower on the horizon.

The object seemed to be reflective, not self illuminated. This assumption is based on the fact that the object dimmed out as it moved out of sight in the southern range of its arc.
