Dark gray flat-ended saucer shaped object flying west to east.

On the Fourth of July, I was on my second floor deck, watching the fireworks begin, looking W/NW. The sun had set, but there was still an orange glow to the western clouds. Far to the west, I saw a dark gray object hovering just under the cloud line.

I stepped inside to retrieve a pair of binoculars that I keep hanging inside the door. I sighted the object through the binoculars, and it was moving east at a slow pace, coming right towards me. It was very far away, so it is difficult to estimate its size, but I would say it was just a little smaller than a mid-sized plane.

It was silent, had no running lights, and no exhaust. As it came closer, perhaps a mile or two away, it started to bank to it's left, or North.

As it banked, I could clearly see that it was saucer shaped in front, but the back end was flat; what a dime would look like if one clipped off about an eighth of it.

I followed it with the binoculars until it disappeared past the tree line.

This is the third UFO I have viewed from my deck in the past two years, and my second report filed with NUFORC.
