Nighttime fireball on July 5

Driving to work at night when I saw this object. Pulled off arterial onto side street to watch it pass overhead. Saw what appeared to be an orange light approximately 1000 ft above ground travelling in a northeast direction. Appeared to travel nearly as fast as an airplane, but made now sound. Looked like a fireball when directly overhead. Continued for another 30 seconds or so in same direction then disappeared out of sight.
