Sweeping light soutwest to north observed central KC.

I was walking in a park on a high hill at more or less 11 pm. I didn't think too much of it. I often observe the night sky. There was a haze due to water vapor in the sky.

I saw a light beam originating from a point almost due South sweep Esst to North. It swept about 120 degrees. It was like those powerful lights they shine up into the clouds like at a store opening or event they want to attract people to. BUT BUT the odd thing is it wasn't from the ground up it was from the sky downward.
