|Two men blinded at Winnange Lake by a laser-like light emanating from a high fliying UFO.
My friend and I were scanned by a laser-like light at night by a high flying UFO 60 km east of Kenora, Ontario. Our location was at Lat 49° 47.8’ and Long 93° 41.7’.
My name is ((name #1 deleted)) and my friend’s name is ((name #2 deleted)). We are in our 60’s. ((#2) is retired public servant and I am semi-retired educator.
((#2)) and I have been avid wilderness canoeists for 42 years. During the last 15 years, we have gravitated to our favourite camp site on the north eastern basin of Winnange Lake, Ontario.
On Tuesday evening, August 13, 2013, ((#2)) and I were scanning the skies for the last remnants of the Perseid meteor showers. The half moon set at around 10:40 PM so the sky was black and rich with stars and the Milky Way which reflected off the lake. The water was calm with not even a gentle breeze, so we easily saw and heard the jet planes flying at 40,000 ft. We sited several fast moving meteorites.
Suddenly, while scanning the skies at almost 11:20 PM ((#2)) excitedly exclaimed “((#1)), did you see that flash?!!” I immediately directed my sight toward the western sky and witnessed a silent and high flying object whose dim light was continuous for about 15 seconds, then began alternately fading out and reappearing at about 5 second intervals.
After about one minute, the dim light seemed not to move at all, but began to grow hugely in size while changing like a kaleidoscope into many colors including yellow, orange, red, purple, green, and blue.
During the 7 seconds or so when the object grew in size and its colors started to change, I became increasingly ill in my stomach and chest area feeling nauseous as if my body was being violated and invaded. I felt like I was going to vomit. ((#2)) said later that he felt a sensation of fear and his body hairs stood on end.
The object abruptly and unexpectedly flashed directly at us brilliant white laser-like beams of light into our eyes, which lasted at least a second and almost blinded us. We were unable to close our eyes or blink as would be the case when a bright flashlight hits one’s eyes in a dark room.
From my peripheral vision, I recalled that nothing else around us was lit up so no shadows appeared around us from the trees or our camping gear, indicating that the light flash was only directed at our eyes. Our bodies were locked during the flash. I felt that my soul had been scanned and I became angry from this violation of my being. ((#2)) experienced a similar sensation. Immediately, I asked him to check the time which was 11:20 PM, so I don’t believe that we lost time.
After the UFO’s laser-like light beam attacked us, we watched it for another minute or so as it continued in the alternating fading and reappearing pattern it had previously exhibited, and then it totally faded from view. The object was flying in a straight line direction of WNW at an angle of about 50 degrees above the western horizon. We had been examining the eastern, southern and western sky for meteorites. I believe that the object was silently flying at least 40,000 feet above the ground, while ((#2) felt that it was lower at about 10,000 ft. The whole episode from the initial sighting to final extinction of its alternating glow lasted about 2 minutes.
A few days later, I talked to friends who had been camping at Big Whiteshell Lake in Manitoba on the same evening, as they too were scouring the skies for meteors with a large telescope. Our friends stated that from their location, they and others witnessed at the same moment the object which flashed ((#2)) and me. As the crow flies, they were about 100 km northwest of our campsite. Our friends stated that they saw no light beams eminate from the object.
