Bright orange circular object with red lights around it

My son and I saw a low-flying, completely silent object from a distance and watched as it passed right over us. I thought it had to be a helicopter but it was absolutely silent and close. It was a bright orange circle with red lights around it...very bright and not like anything I've ever seen before. I used ((a bad word)) in front of my kid if that tells you my level of disbelief.
