|Bright light that went from stationary to slow moving, with light extinguishing in a few seconds. No nav lights, no sound.
Taking my dog out, I looked to the sky to see what planets I could spot.
In the eastern sky there was a very bright object that wasn’t moving. (It was in front of and below the visible Mars.) I gazed at it for a few seconds; it looked like a very bright Venus – though brighter than I’d ever seen it and I knew Venus had not risen.
The light then started moving SSW and, after moving for perhaps 2 seconds, the light was extinguished.
My initial thought was that it was an aircraft and that I’d simply seen its landing lights, but after the bright light went out, no navigation lights were visible.
The sky was very clear, so I know it didn’t just pass behind a cloud.
Also, there was no engine or other noise in its wake. Had it been a jet, I would have heard it.
The dog was visibly disturbed as this transpired.
