We were illuminated by a bright, white light, while walking in a dark, secluded pasture.

My friend and I were at my home in a secluded area of the mountains, east of San Diego.

We were studying the night sky and then looked down as we walked the horses through the pasture gate.

Suddenly we were enveloped within a brilliant white light, which included an area approximately 30 feet long by 20 feet wide.

My first thought was lightening had struck, but quickly remembered the sky was clear.

My friend looked up at the sky and saw nothing, although she thought she might have seen a smoke trail.

We did not hear any noise nor did the horses and dogs respond to the light.

The entire episode only lasted a couple of seconds.
